Individual and Community:
- The Green Party attaches greater importance to equality and social/community responsibility.
- The Green Party prefers lower increases in military spending and are comparatively more reluctant to using military force against countries like Iran, Syria and Libya.
- The Green Party supports the restriction of police usage of guns, as well as all forms of weapon control.
- The Green Party believes that the women’s right to control their bodies is non-negotiable. In addition, they believe that the federal government should also cover abortion under national health care system.
- The Green Party tends to favor equal rights for gay and lesbian couples e.g. the right to get married and adopt children.
- The Green Party is a staunch opponent of the death penalty.
- The Green Party supports progressive taxes i.e. they want high-income individuals to pay taxes at a higher rate. They support higher taxes on the wealthy to pay for public programs.
- The Green Party favors increases in the minimum wage to help workers.
- The Green Party favors a strong central government — both in terms of the number of people employed by the government and in terms of the roles and responsibilities of government in society. For example, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a government agency that many Democrats would love to deride as an example of "useful" government agencies that they would shut down.
- The Green Party wants to expand the food stamps program, or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The Green Party argues that with unemployment rate high in the economy, many families need the assistance provided by the program.
- The Green Party supports affirmative action to remedy discrimination, as well as confronting barriers of racism, sexism, heterosexism, & ageism.
- The Green Party claims that voter fraud is virtually non-existent and that these laws disenfranchise black and Hispanic voters who tend to be poorer and unable to obtain ID cards.
- The Green Party believes that there should be higher wages and taxes should remain the same (not increased).
- The Green Party was to give undocumented immigrants a chance to become US citizens.
- The Green Party wants to end school vouchers, but supports more choices in public education.
- The Green Party wants to expand funding of Head Start, but also supports personal responsibility.
- The Green Party believes in self-determination for both Palestinians and Israelis. In addition, the Green Party also supports human rights, especially social and economic justice, across the globe as the cornerstone of US foreign policy.
- The Green Party supports the passage of a Living Wage, as they think that workers should earn a wage that reflects the real value of their work.
